WAG to Host Opioid Drug Seminar
Whiting Assembly of God church will be hosting a presentation on the opioid drug problem on Friday, August 24th at 7 PM. The presentation will be by Sgt. Richard Mazza of the Manchester Police Department Narcotics Enforcement team. It will center around their “Not Even Once” program that is given in the township schools.
The opioid drug problem in our country is epidemic and is even effecting our local community. The presentation will cover not only the dimensions of the problem, but will also discuss what we can do as a community to help bring it under control.
In addition to the Manchester police, Teen Challenge, a Christian addiction recovery program will be on hand to answer questions and offer a pathway to a cure for addiction.
The Whiting Business Association (WBA) will be joining Whiting Assembly of God as a co-sponsor of the event. The WBA will have a table for information at the conference and will be providing bags with give-a-ways to all the attendees. The WBA supports all efforts to end the epidemic of drug use in our community and our country.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 (NAS)
